Why is my Jersey Post parcel held in customs?

Because Jersey sits outside the UK VAT area, items can be held for customs clearance, especially when VAT or duty is owed. Goods sent to the UK with a retail value above 39 pounds need VAT paid before release. Check your email or text messages for a payment request, as the parcel will not move until any charge is settled.
