What does "Held by customs" mean for my Slovakia Post parcel?

It means an inbound item from outside the EU is waiting for customs review at the international office of exchange. It may clear within hours or be held while duty and VAT are assessed or the contents are inspected. You may be asked to confirm the value or pay charges before the parcel is released for delivery.
