CJ Logistics Tracking
CJ Logistics is South Korea's largest parcel carrier, running a network built to push up to 9.23 million boxes a day through 17 hub terminals and roughly 270 sub-terminals under its O-NE delivery brand. CJ Logistics tracking is the scan trail a parcel leaves across that network, from the driver who collects it to the sub-terminal that serves the recipient's street. The company reports a 46.4 percent share of the Korean parcel market and annual capacity of 1.65 billion boxes, moved by 29,000 vehicles and 23,000 last-mile drivers. Since 5 January 2025 it has delivered seven days a week, erasing the roughly 70 Sundays and public holidays that Korean parcel networks used to skip, and it is the carrier behind Naver's Arrival Guarantee. Older labels and legacy systems still carry its former names, Korea Express and CJ Korea Express.
CJ Logistics Tracking Number Format
A CJ Logistics tracking number is a purely numeric invoice number, called the 운송장번호 (unsongjang beonho) in Korean and rendered in English as the invoice number or waybill number. CJ's own domestic tracking field enforces the shape: it strips anything that is not a digit and caps the entry at 12 characters, so no valid CJ parcel number contains letters, spaces or hyphens.
Twelve digits is the length on current waybills, printed under the barcode as a single run such as 612345678901. Ten-digit numbers still turn up on older labels and on some contract accounts, and CJ's field accepts them because the cap is an upper bound rather than a fixed length. Dashes printed on a label for readability are cosmetic and must be dropped when the number is typed in.
CJ's cross-border arm uses a different identifier. The international express lookup (국제특송조회) takes a numeric consignment number of up to 20 digits, a separate namespace from the domestic parcel invoice number, so an international consignment number will not resolve in the domestic tracker and the reverse is also true.
The digits are sequence-assigned. CJ publishes no prefix-to-service key, so a leading 6 or 5 indicates nothing reliable about the service used, the origin sub-terminal or the seller.
Where to Find CJ Logistics Tracking Number
The invoice number is generated when the waybill is created, which means the seller or the sender holds it before the recipient does. It appears in these places:
- The shipping confirmation from the Korean shop or marketplace, usually a KakaoTalk alert or SMS naming CJ대한통운 and the number.
- The order detail page of the store, under the delivery or 배송조회 tab.
- The printed waybill taped to the box, directly beneath the barcode.
- The counter receipt from a GS25 or CU convenience store, when the parcel was lodged there.
- The CJ대한통운 app, which lists every parcel bound for a registered phone number without the number being typed in at all.
An order number from a shop is not the same thing as an invoice number and will not resolve in CJ's tracker. Korean shops often display the order number first and only expose the CJ invoice number once the parcel has been collected, which is why a lookup can fail for several hours after a dispatch message arrives.
CJ Logistics Tracking Number Example
The table sets out every CJ number format a recipient is likely to meet. The example values are illustrative patterns rather than live parcels.
| Format | Example pattern | Typical length | Where it appears |
|---|---|---|---|
| Domestic parcel invoice number (운송장번호) | 612345678901 | 12 digits | Current CJ waybills, seller dispatch messages, the CJ tracker and app |
| Legacy domestic invoice number | 1234567890 | 10 digits | Older labels and some contract accounts; resolves in the same tracker |
| Return waybill (반품) | 612345678902 | 12 digits | Issued when a return pickup is booked; shown next to the original number in the result |
| Original waybill (원운송장) | 612345678901 | 12 digits | Displayed on a return record to tie it back to the outbound parcel |
| International express consignment (국제특송) | 12345678901234567890 | up to 20 digits | CJ's separate international express lookup, not the domestic tracker |
| Postal registered number | issued by the post office | set by the postal operator | Added to the CJ result when a parcel is handed to the postal service for final delivery |
Every CJ format is numeric. A code containing letters, such as a CP or EE prefixed postal item, is not a CJ number and belongs to a postal operator instead.
CJ Logistics Tracking Status Guide
CJ Logistics reports progress through a seven-step model, and every scan a parcel receives is mapped into one of the stages below before it reaches the tracker. Korean is the source vocabulary, so both the Korean label and its English meaning are given.
| Status | Description |
|---|---|
| 상품준비 / Preparing | The waybill has been created and registered, but no physical scan exists yet. The number can return no result at this point. |
| 상품인수 / Item collected | A CJ driver has taken the parcel from the seller, the warehouse or a convenience-store counter and scanned it into the network. This is the first physical event. |
| 상품이동중 / In transit | The parcel is moving between terminals: loaded onto a line-haul truck at the origin sub-terminal, sorted at a hub, or unloaded on the far side. Most of a parcel's life sits here, and the status can repeat several times. |
| 배송지도착 / Arrived at delivery area | The parcel has reached the sub-terminal that serves the recipient's address. Delivery normally follows the same day or the next working day. |
| 배송출발 / Out for delivery | The parcel is on a local van. CJ exposes the assigned driver's name and contact number at this stage, which is the last practical point to pass on a delivery instruction. |
| 배달완료 / Delivered | The parcel has been handed over or left at the agreed location. The tracking record closes here. |
| 우체국위탁배송 / Entrusted to the post office | CJ has passed the parcel to the postal operator for the final leg, typically to a remote island or a rural route. The result screen adds a postal registered number and a lookup link. |
| 반품 / Return | A return waybill has been raised. The record shows the return number and the original outbound invoice number together. |
Why CJ Logistics Tracking Is Not Updating or Not Working
Nearly every CJ Logistics tracking complaint traces back to one of six situations, and only the last of them needs a phone call.
Awaiting the first scan. A number that returns nothing has been created but not collected. Korean sellers generate the invoice number when they print the label, sometimes a day or more before a driver arrives, so the tracker holds no event until the 상품인수 scan lands. Waiting until the end of the next working day before treating this as a fault is reasonable.
In transit between terminals. A parcel sitting on 상품이동중 for 24 to 48 hours is normal rather than lost. Line-haul runs move at night, and a box that leaves a provincial sub-terminal in the evening may not be scanned again until it is unloaded at a hub in the small hours. Volume peaks around Chuseok and Seollal stretch that gap further.
Out for delivery with no arrival. Once a parcel shows 배송출발, CJ publishes the assigned driver's name and mobile number on the tracking result. A parcel that fails to arrive by evening is usually still on the van and gets rolled into the next round, and the driver's number is the fastest route to an answer.
Handed to the postal network. Parcels for remote islands and some rural routes leave the CJ network entirely and finish with the postal service. The CJ record stops updating by design and offers a postal registered number instead, so the live status has to be read at Korea Post from that point on.
Wrong number or wrong tracker. A shop order number, an international express consignment number, or any code containing letters returns nothing in the domestic tracker. The domestic lookup takes digits only, at most 12 of them, and CJ's international express sits behind a separate search box.
Genuinely delayed or missing. When a parcel has not moved for more than three working days and no postal handoff is shown, the sender is the first point of contact, because the contract of carriage sits with them. CJ's customer centre on 1588-1255 and its 24-hour chatbot handle direct enquiries, and damage or loss reports go through the one-to-one enquiry form rather than the tracker.
Parcel Services and Delivery Options Compared
CJ consolidated its consumer parcel services under the O-NE brand on 13 March 2023, and every tier below reports into the same tracking record.
| Service | What it covers | Tracking and detail |
|---|---|---|
| O-NE standard parcel | The core domestic 택배 service across the whole country, Jeju included, with some remote islands and mountain areas excluded from direct delivery. | Full scan trail on the 12-digit invoice number, next working day for most of the mainland. |
| Everyday O-NE (매일 오네) | Seven-day delivery launched 5 January 2025, covering Sundays and public holidays. | No minimum volume, no holiday surcharge, and a hub cutoff as late as 01:00 on Sunday morning. |
| Arrival Guarantee (도착보장) | Date-guaranteed delivery sold through Naver and other platforms, run out of dedicated fulfilment centres. | CJ reports a guarantee fulfilment rate above 98 percent. |
| Convenience-store lodgement | Parcel drop-off at roughly 17,000 GS25 and CU stores nationwide. | The counter receipt carries the invoice number; the parcel joins the standard network on collection. |
| Parcel handling outlets | About 40,000 acceptance points, including Daiso stores and convenience chains. | CJ's stated aim is an outlet within ten minutes of the customer. |
| Unmanned lockers (무인락커) | App-booked lockers in apartment complexes, universities and safe-delivery locations. | Reserved in the CJ대한통운 app by picking a locker on the map and sizing it to the parcel. |
| Return pickup (반품예약) | Reverse collection from the recipient's address. | Booked on CJ's site, in the app, through the ARS line or on 1588-1255; a new return waybill is issued. |
| International express (국제특송) | Cross-border express handled by CJ's global freight arm. | Tracked in a separate lookup on a numeric consignment number of up to 20 digits. |
Delivery and Transit Times Across South Korea
The Korean parcel network runs on a next-day standard, and the Arrival Guarantee programme CJ operates with Naver commits to next-day delivery for more than 90 percent of the country on orders placed before midnight. The ranges below are estimates drawn from that standard and from CJ's published network structure, not contractual commitments.
| Destination | Estimated transit | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Seoul, Incheon, Gyeonggi | 1 working day | Served directly from Mega Hub Gonjiam, the densest part of the network. |
| Metropolitan cities (Busan, Daegu, Daejeon, Gwangju, Ulsan) | 1 to 2 working days | One overnight line-haul leg out of the origin hub. |
| Provincial towns and rural routes | 1 to 3 working days | Depends on the sub-terminal schedule; some routes finish with a postal handoff. |
| Jeju | 2 to 3 working days | Inside nationwide coverage, with an air or sea leg added. |
| Remote islands and mountain areas | 3 working days or more | Often completed by the postal service, at which point the CJ record stops advancing. |
| Cross-border from China | 3 to 5 days, target | The service level CJ set for direct-purchase parcels moving on its China lanes. |
Two calendar effects dominate everything else. Chuseok in autumn and Seollal in late winter each produce a volume spike that adds days to ordinary routes. In the other direction, CJ's seven-day operation has reset the weekend baseline: Sunday deliveries across Korea rose about 67 percent through 2025 after Everyday O-NE launched.
Inside the Sorting Network Behind Each Scan
Mega Hub Gonjiam, opened in Gyeonggi Province in 2018, is the largest sorting facility of its kind in Asia and the reason so many CJ scans cluster in the middle of the night. Its figures are unusual even for a parcel hub:
- 300,000 square metres of floor area, about the footprint of 40 football pitches, with 110,000 square metres of it given over to storage.
- 43 kilometres of conveyor, roughly the length of a marathon course.
- Around 2 million boxes handled per day on a 12-hour basis.
- Simultaneous docking and automated sorting for more than 850 trucks of 11 tonnes and above.
- Five-sided barcode scanners, so a box is read whichever way it lands on the belt.
Wheel sorters carry more than 95 percent of CJ's total volume, which is what makes 상품이동중 move in bursts: a parcel can cross a hub in minutes, then wait hours for its outbound line-haul truck to fill. A second national hub in Daejeon anchors the seven-day operation.
Returns, Damage Claims and Compensation
Compensation for a Korean parcel is governed by the standard parcel terms issued by the Fair Trade Commission, and the deadline is short. Where an item arrives damaged or partly missing, the carrier's liability lapses unless the recipient notifies the carrier within 14 days of receiving the parcel, so a damaged box should be reported the day it lands rather than after a repair quote comes back.
The declared value on the waybill sets the ceiling. When no value is declared, compensation under the standard terms is capped at 500,000 won, whatever the contents were actually worth. Declaring the value and paying the surcharge lifts the ceiling to the declared bracket, which matters for electronics, watches and anything else priced well past that cap.
Returns follow a different path from claims. A return is normally raised with the shop first, because most Korean marketplaces book the collection themselves and pass the address to CJ. Where it has to be booked directly, CJ's site, its app, its ARS line and the 1588-1255 customer centre all accept the booking, and quoting the original invoice number speeds it up. A fresh return waybill is issued, and the tracking result then carries the return number and the original number side by side.
Which Countries Does CJ Logistics Deliver To?
CJ Logistics international tracking covers a network that spans 46 countries, 282 cities and 462 hubs, although the consumer parcel service most tracking searches concern is a domestic Korean one. The distinction matters: a CJ invoice number generally describes a leg inside South Korea, even when the parcel started life on an overseas marketplace.
Domestically the coverage is close to total. The O-NE network reaches every province, from Seoul and Gyeonggi through Gangwon, Chungcheong, Jeolla and Gyeongsang to Jeju Island, with only some remote islands and high mountain areas falling outside direct delivery and moving instead to a postal handoff.
Internationally, CJ operates through owned subsidiaries rather than a single branded express product. The footprint was assembled by acquisition, and the main pillars are:
- Asia Pacific: China (CJ Rokin, CJ Smart Cargo), Vietnam (CJ Gemadept), Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, the Philippines, Thailand and India.
- North America: CJ Logistics America, built on the 2018 acquisition of DSC Logistics.
- Middle East: the United Arab Emirates, added in 2017.
- Europe: freight forwarding and contract logistics rather than a consumer parcel service.
For a shopper in Europe or North America waiting on a parcel from a Korean seller, the practical pattern is that CJ carries the box to a Korean gateway and an overseas operator finishes the job, at which point the CJ number stops updating and a new number takes over.
Cross-Border Customs and International Handoff
Inbound e-commerce from China is the largest cross-border stream CJ handles, and it runs on a partnership with Cainiao, the logistics arm of Alibaba. The stated target for that lane is delivery within 3 to 5 days of a parcel leaving China, against the one to two weeks direct-purchase orders used to take, achieved by feeding cleared parcels straight into the domestic O-NE network.
Customs clearance happens before the domestic scan trail begins. Parcels entering South Korea are cleared under a personal customs clearance code (개인통관고유부호), an identifier Korean customs requires from the consignee on direct-purchase imports. A missing or mismatched code is the most common reason an inbound parcel stalls at the border, and no amount of refreshing the CJ tracker will move it, because the parcel has not yet been released to CJ.
Handoffs also run the other way. CJ passes parcels for remote islands and certain rural routes to the postal network, and the CJ tracking result then displays a postal registered number with a direct lookup link, the clearest signal that a parcel has left CJ's own vans for good.
Marketplace Collaborations
CJ Logistics carries volume for most of the large platforms selling into Korea, and the relationships are structural rather than incidental. Naver, Korea's dominant search and commerce platform, built its Arrival Guarantee service on CJ's fulfilment centres and delivery network, backed by a share swap between the two groups worth 600 billion won.
"NAVER Arrival Guarantee is a solution that leverages NAVER's technologies to analyze a wide range of data including orders that have been placed, inventory at the logistics company, and shipping information from the delivery company in order to guarantee an estimated arrival date with high accuracy." (NAVER Corp press release, 2023.)
Chinese platforms are the other pillar. AliExpress signed CJ as its Korean delivery partner in 2023 to bring direct-purchase orders down to a few days, and although that exclusivity ended when the contract went to open bidding in 2024, CJ has continued to carry Chinese cross-border volume through the Cainiao tie-up. Temu likewise leans on Korean carriers for its last mile, with CJ Logistics and Hanjin named as its domestic logistics partners as of early 2025.
Closer to home, CJ delivers for its own group's home-shopping arm, CJ ONSTYLE, which was the launch customer for Sunday delivery, and Gmarket adopted CJ's guaranteed delivery date service in 2024. On the drop-off side, the O-NE partnership with GS Networks is what puts CJ acceptance counters inside GS25 stores, alongside CU and the wider set of roughly 40,000 handling outlets that includes Daiso.
About CJ Logistics
CJ Logistics traces to 1930, when it was founded as Chosun Rice Warehousing, which makes it one of the oldest continuously operating logistics companies in South Korea. It was renamed Korea Express in 1950, listed on the exchange in 1956, privatised out of state ownership in 1968 into the Dong Ah Group, and later passed through Kumho Asiana before CJ Group acquired control in 2011.
The name then changed twice more. The company traded as CJ Korea Express after the CJ acquisition, merged with CJ GLS in 2013 to combine the group's parcel and contract-logistics arms, and adopted CJ Logistics as its corporate name in 2017. Korean signage still reads CJ대한통운, and the 대한통운 element is the Korean name behind the Korea Express brand, which is why both former names remain in circulation on labels, receipts and legacy systems, including the doortodoor.co.kr parcel portal that gives this page its address.
The company is listed on the Korea Exchange under ticker 000120 and sits inside CJ Group. Its Korean parcel operation is the market leader on its own reported numbers: a 46.4 percent share, 1.65 billion boxes of annual capacity, 17 hub terminals, around 270 sub-terminals, 29,000 vehicles and 23,000 delivery drivers. It has taken first place in the Korean Customer Satisfaction Index for parcel services for nine consecutive years, and its consumer app has passed 15 million downloads.
"Previously, delivery services were unavailable on approximately 70 days a year, including Sundays and public holidays. With the introduction of daily delivery, customers can now receive packages anytime, anywhere, and for almost anything." (CJ Logistics newsroom, Everyday Delivery O-NE announcement, January 2025.)
Beyond parcels, CJ runs contract logistics, port stevedoring, freight forwarding and the THE FULFILL e-commerce fulfilment brand, and it has pushed automation and robotics work through its TES Innovation Center. The customer centre for parcel enquiries is 1588-1255, open 09:00 to 18:00 on weekdays and 09:00 to 13:00 on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays.
CJ Logistics Common Questions:
How do I track a CJ Logistics parcel?
Enter the numeric invoice number in the tracking box on this page, or use CJ's own parcel lookup on cjlogistics.com and in the CJ대한통운 app. The domestic tracker takes digits only, up to 12 of them, and rejects letters, spaces and hyphens. The app also lists every parcel bound for a registered Korean phone number, so no number needs to be typed in.
What does a CJ Logistics tracking number look like?
It is a run of digits with no letters. Current waybills carry a 12-digit invoice number, following a pattern like 612345678901, while older labels and some contract accounts still use 10 digits. CJ's international express service uses a separate numeric consignment number of up to 20 digits, which does not resolve in the domestic tracker.
Where do I find my CJ Logistics tracking number?
It is in the shipping confirmation the Korean seller sends by KakaoTalk or SMS, on the order detail page of the shop, printed under the barcode on the waybill, and on the counter receipt if the parcel was lodged at a GS25 or CU store. Keep in mind that a shop order number is not the same thing and will not return any scans.
Why is my CJ Logistics tracking not updating?
The usual reasons are that the label was created but the parcel has not been collected yet, so no scan exists; that the parcel is on an overnight line-haul leg, where 24 to 48 hours can pass between scans; or that CJ has handed the parcel to the postal service for a remote route, in which case the CJ record stops by design and the postal registered number shown on the result takes over. If nothing has moved for more than three working days and no handoff is shown, contact the sender first.
Is CJ Logistics tracking down?
A number that returns no result is far more often a number that has not been scanned yet than an outage. Before assuming the tracker is down, check that the code is numeric, that it is not a shop order number, and that an international express consignment number is not being entered in the domestic lookup, since the two use different search boxes.
What does 상품이동중 mean on CJ tracking?
상품이동중 means the parcel is in transit between terminals: loaded onto a line-haul truck, sorted at a hub, or unloaded on the far side. It is the status a parcel spends most of its life in and it can appear several times on one record. On its own it is not an error and not a delay.
What does 배송출발 mean?
배송출발 means the parcel is out for delivery on a local van. At this stage CJ shows the assigned driver's name and mobile number on the tracking result, so a delivery instruction can still be passed on directly. If the parcel does not arrive that evening, it is normally still on the van and gets rolled into the next round.
How long does CJ Logistics take to deliver?
As an estimate: one working day for Seoul, Incheon and Gyeonggi, one to two days for metropolitan cities such as Busan and Daegu, two to three days for Jeju, and three days or more for remote islands. Naver's Arrival Guarantee, which runs on CJ's network, commits to next-day delivery for more than 90 percent of the country on orders placed before midnight. Chuseok and Seollal add days to every route.
Does CJ Logistics deliver on Sundays and public holidays?
Yes. CJ launched Everyday O-NE on 5 January 2025, adding delivery on Sundays and public holidays and closing roughly 70 non-delivery days a year. There is no holiday surcharge and no minimum volume, and hub cutoff runs as late as 01:00 on Sunday morning.
Why does my tracking now show a post office number?
CJ hands parcels for remote islands and some rural routes to the postal service for the final leg. When that happens the result adds a postal registered number and a lookup link, and the CJ record stops advancing. From that point the live status is held by Korea Post rather than by CJ, so the postal number is the one to use.
How do I contact CJ Logistics about a parcel?
The parcel customer centre is 1588-1255, open 09:00 to 18:00 on weekdays with a lunch break from 12:00 to 13:00, and 09:00 to 13:00 on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays. CJ also runs a 24-hour chatbot and a one-to-one enquiry form, which is the correct channel for damage and loss reports. For a marketplace order, contact the seller first, since the contract of carriage sits with them.
How do I book a return with CJ Logistics?
Raise the return with the shop first, because most Korean marketplaces book the collection themselves. To book directly, use the return reservation page on CJ's site, the CJ대한통운 app, the ARS line or the 1588-1255 customer centre, and quote the original invoice number to speed it up. A new return waybill is issued, and the tracking result then shows the return number alongside the original one.
What compensation applies if a CJ parcel is lost or damaged?
Under the Korean standard parcel terms, the carrier's liability lapses unless the recipient notifies the carrier within 14 days of receiving the parcel, so a damaged box should be reported the same day. Where no value was declared on the waybill, compensation is capped at 500,000 won regardless of what the contents were worth. Declaring the value and paying the surcharge raises that ceiling to the declared bracket.
Can I send a parcel through a convenience store?
Yes. Roughly 17,000 GS25 and CU stores accept CJ parcels over the counter, and CJ counts about 40,000 handling outlets in total, including Daiso branches. The counter receipt carries the invoice number, and the parcel joins the standard network once a driver collects it.
Does CJ Logistics have parcel lockers?
Yes. CJ operates unmanned lockers (무인락커) in apartment complexes, universities and designated safe-delivery locations. A locker is booked in the CJ대한통운 app by choosing an available unit on the map, entering the sender, recipient and item details, and picking a size that fits the parcel.
Is CJ Logistics the same company as Korea Express?
Yes. The company was founded in 1930 as Chosun Rice Warehousing, renamed Korea Express in 1950, traded as CJ Korea Express after CJ Group took control in 2011, and adopted the name CJ Logistics in 2017. Korean signage still reads CJ대한통운, and 대한통운 is the Korean name behind the Korea Express brand, which is why both names still turn up on labels and in older systems.
Why does my AliExpress or Temu order show CJ Logistics?
Chinese marketplaces hand their Korean last-mile volume to Korean carriers. CJ signed on as AliExpress's Korean delivery partner in 2023 and continues to carry Chinese cross-border volume through its partnership with Cainiao, and CJ Logistics and Hanjin were named as Temu's domestic logistics partners as of early 2025. The CJ number covers the Korean leg only; the journey out of China sits under a different number.
My inbound parcel is stuck before any CJ scan. What now?
It is almost certainly held at customs rather than by CJ. Direct-purchase imports into South Korea require the consignee's personal customs clearance code (개인통관고유부호), and a missing or mismatched code stops the parcel at the border before it is ever released to CJ. No CJ scan can appear until clearance completes, so the fix sits with the seller and customs, not with the tracker.
