Ekart Tracking

Ekart is the in-house logistics arm of Flipkart, and it is the unusual case of a courier whose biggest customer also owns it. Most people searching for Ekart tracking are Flipkart or Myntra buyers rather than courier customers, and that shapes how an Ekart parcel is actually traced. Operated by Instakart Services Pvt Ltd and run out of Bengaluru, the network puts more than 7,000 trucks on Indian roads every day and reaches over 15,000 pin codes from roughly 70 fulfilment centres, 80 sortation facilities and 3,500 delivery hubs. Ekart went live on the government-backed ONDC network on 3 June 2025, opening that same fleet to sellers who never touch Flipkart. Its parcels arrive with a Wishmaster, Flipkart's name for its delivery agents, who can open the carton at the door so the contents are inspected before any money changes hands.

Ekart Tracking Number Format

An Ekart tracking ID is 14 characters: four uppercase letters followed by 10 digits, with no spaces, hyphens or check letters. Ekart's own tracker prints the pattern in the box where the number is typed, using the on-screen example NAHC0000477864.

Ekart uses the label "Tracking ID" in its consumer tracker and "shipment ID" in seller-facing material, and the two mean the same string. Flipkart presents it inside the shipment block of an order, where it may appear under either name.

The four-letter prefix varies. Flipkart marketplace parcels frequently carry FMPC or FMPP, while other four-letter prefixes such as NAHC appear on Ekart's own example. The prefix is not a documented service code: it does not reliably indicate the speed, the seller or the type of shipment, so it is best treated as a commonly seen pattern rather than something to decode.

A Flipkart order ID is a different identifier entirely. It begins with OD and is followed by a long run of digits, and Ekart's tracker will not accept it. Ekart's freight arm uses a third identifier, the LR shipment ID, which is looked up on a separate business portal rather than on the parcel tracker.

Where to Find Ekart Tracking Number

The Ekart tracking ID is issued when the merchant books the consignment, so it surfaces wherever the merchant publishes shipment details:

  • The Flipkart or Myntra app, under My Orders, inside the order once it has been handed to the courier.
  • The shipment confirmation email sent at dispatch, in the shipment details block.
  • The dispatch SMS, which carries the tracking ID alongside the expected delivery date.
  • The shipping label pasted on the carton, printed above or below the barcode.
  • The seller's own order page, for a non-Flipkart merchant that ships through Ekart.

The order ID and the tracking ID are not interchangeable. An order exists the moment payment or a cash-on-delivery request is confirmed, but the tracking ID exists only once the seller books the consignment, which is why an order page shows an OD number for a day or two before any Ekart number appears. Ekart's tracker asks for the tracking ID alone: no postcode, no email address and no phone number are required.

Ekart Tracking Number Example

Ekart Tracking on Flipkart Versus the Ekart Portal

Ekart runs a public parcel tracker at ekartlogistics.com, reached through the TRACK ORDER button, and it accepts exactly one thing: the 14-character Ekart tracking ID. It does not take a Flipkart order ID, an email address or a mobile number, and it holds no record of who bought what. Given only an OD order ID, which is all most buyers have on day one, the Ekart site is a dead end and answers "No tracking data available for ID".

The practical place to track a Flipkart parcel is therefore Flipkart itself, under My Orders, where the shipment is already bound to the buyer's account and the timeline appears without any number being typed. Two further reasons make the marketplace the better first stop. Flipkart resolves the courier for you, and around one Flipkart delivery in ten is not an Ekart delivery at all, so a number that returns nothing on Ekart's site may simply be travelling with a different carrier. Flipkart is also the only side that can act on a problem, because the contract of sale sits with the seller and not with the courier.

The Ekart portal earns its place once the tracking ID is in hand. It reports the merchant name, the recipient name, the expected delivery date and a dated, place-stamped event list, and it requires no login, which makes it the faster option for a parcel bought as a guest or for a gift being watched by the recipient rather than the buyer.

Ekart Tracking Status Guide

Ekart's tracker renders two layers at once: a fixed four-step progress bar, and beneath it a dated event table with Date, Time, Place and Status columns. The four progress-bar labels never change, while the event text comes from the scan feed, so its exact wording varies between merchants.

StatusDescription
Shipment Details ReceivedFirst progress-bar step. The merchant has booked the consignment and the tracking ID now resolves, but the carton may still be sitting with the seller.
Shipment CreatedThe underlying event that lights the first step. A label exists and a number is allocated. No physical movement is implied.
In TransitThe parcel is moving between an origin hub, a sortation facility and the destination city. Multi-day gaps between scans are normal on long surface legs.
Arrived at your Nearest HubSecond progress-bar step. The parcel has reached the last-mile hub serving the destination pin code. Delivery normally follows within a day or two.
Out For DeliveryThird progress-bar step, and a literal status in the event feed. A Wishmaster is carrying the parcel on the day's route.
Undelivered or delivery attemptedThe Wishmaster reached the address and could not hand the parcel over. Ekart's published policy allows three reattempts in the last mile before the consignment is turned back.
DeliveredFinal progress-bar step. The tracker switches its header from "Expected on" to "Delivered on" and stamps the date and time of handover.
RTO (Return to Origin)The parcel is going back to the seller after failed attempts, a refusal at the door, or a cancellation. Ekart bills RTO as a distinct leg in its seller rate card.
No tracking data available for IDNot a shipment status. The tracker holds no record of the number: it is mistyped, it belongs to another courier, or the label has not been scanned into the network yet.

The header line above the bar reads "Current Status" and simply echoes the most recent event, so a parcel that has sat in a hub for two days keeps showing the hub scan rather than an explicit exception.

Why Ekart Tracking Is Not Updating or Not Working

Ekart tracking not updating is rarely a fault in the tracker itself. Each of the following produces a stalled or empty page, and each has a different fix.

Awaiting the first scan. The tracking ID is created when the seller generates the label, not when the parcel is collected. Until the carton is scanned into an Ekart hub the number resolves to nothing, and "No tracking data available for ID" is the expected result. A gap of 24 to 48 hours between the ID being published and the first scan is ordinary, and longer during a Big Billion Days peak.

The parcel is not with Ekart. Flipkart sellers also ship through Delhivery, XpressBees, Blue Dart and India Post, and a Flipkart order is not automatically an Ekart order. A number that returns nothing on Ekart's site frequently belongs to one of those networks instead. The courier name appears in Flipkart's own order timeline, which is the quickest way to settle the question.

An order ID typed into a courier tracker. An OD number is a marketplace reference and Ekart has no way to look it up. Anything that is not four letters followed by 10 digits will fail on the Ekart site, however many times it is retyped.

In transit between hubs. Surface consignments crossing India can run two or three days between scans, particularly on long corridors into the North East or into hill districts. A quiet tracker with a recent sortation-centre scan is a moving parcel, not a lost one.

A failed delivery attempt. Where nobody was available, the address was incomplete, or a cash-on-delivery amount could not be paid, the parcel returns to the delivery hub and is reattempted. Ekart allows three last-mile reattempts before the consignment is marked RTO and turned back to the seller.

Genuinely delayed or stuck. Where no scan has been added for four or more working days and the promised date has passed, the parcel has stopped rather than slowed. Raise it with the seller or with Flipkart's Help Centre first: the marketplace holds the contract, can see the internal scan feed that the public tracker hides, and is the only party able to issue a refund or a replacement.

Services and Delivery Speeds Compared

Ekart sells four core parcel products alongside a freight arm, and its air network reaches 1,800 cities within 96 hours according to its own service pages.

ServiceWhat it carriesSpeed and tracking
Air ExpressTime-critical parcels on the air network, which connects 21 or more airportsFastest lane. Reaches 1,800 cities within 96 hours. Scanned end to end.

Large SurfaceHeavier and bulkier parcels from 3 to 20 kgSurface lanes, slower on long corridors. Fully tracked.

Open Box DeliveryMobiles, laptops and large appliances in selected areasStandard speed. The inspection happens at handover, not in transit.
B2B Express (FTL and PTL)Full and part truckload freight, heavy inventory movementTracked by LR shipment ID on Ekart's separate business portal.

Ekart's self-serve seller platform is narrower than the network standing behind Flipkart. Its published seller FAQ caps that product at shipments under 4 kg, and sets first-mile pickup across 5,000 pin codes against 15,000 pin codes in the last mile, which is why a seller in a small town can often receive from Ekart but not ship with it.

Delivery and Transit Times

Ekart quotes 48 to 96 hours as its guaranteed surface window on longer distances, and its seller FAQ states that orders booked before 11 am on a working day can be attempted for pickup the same day. Real doorstep times depend far more on the destination pin code than on the service bought. The ranges below are estimates drawn from Ekart's published windows and typical marketplace behaviour, not guarantees.

Cash on Delivery, QR Payment and Open Box Delivery

Cash on delivery still dominates Indian ecommerce, and Flipkart put the figure at "almost 75% of customers" choosing cash on delivery when it introduced a contactless alternative. That alternative is QR-code pay-on-delivery: the Wishmaster presents a QR code on the shipment at the door and the amount is paid through any UPI app, including PhonePe, Paytm, Google Pay and MobiKwik, which removes the exact-change problem without forcing payment forward to checkout.

Open Box Delivery is the second thing an Ekart handover does that an ordinary courier does not. Flipkart's own description is unambiguous about the cost:

"Open Box Delivery is completely free for eligible products." (Flipkart Stories, on Open Box Delivery, 2024.)

The Wishmaster opens the packaging in front of the customer, who checks that the item is the right one and undamaged before accepting it. It covers mobiles, laptops and large appliances in selected locations, and a refusal at that point becomes an immediate return rather than a return request raised days later. On a cash-on-delivery order the two features combine: the box is opened, the contents are checked, and only then is the QR code scanned or the cash handed over.

On the seller side, Ekart's published policy is that COD is charged only where it is collected, and cash remittance runs weekly, with the FAQ stating that money for items delivered by Tuesday is remitted on the following Thursday.

Returns, Reverse Pickup and Lost Shipment Claims

A return travels as its own consignment with its own tracking ID, so the original forward number stops updating the moment the parcel is handed back. Ekart's return product is Smart RVP, offered with or without a quality check performed by the Wishmaster at the door, and the company markets a hand-to-hand product exchange in which the replacement is delivered and the original collected in a single visit.

Failed collections behave like failed deliveries. Ekart's seller FAQ documents five reattempts in the first mile and three reattempts in the last mile, and a shipment can be rescheduled at any point before it is marked RTO.

Compensation for a lost parcel is narrower than many senders expect. Ekart's seller FAQ ties any payout to insurance having been bought, and caps it at 50% of the shipment value or Rs 2,000, whichever is lower. A Flipkart buyer is not affected by that cap, because the buyer's claim runs against the seller under Flipkart's own refund policy rather than against the courier, which is a further reason to open a lost-parcel case in the marketplace instead of with Ekart. Ekart's own support route for sellers is a ticket on its portal, with a stated response within 24 hours.

Which Countries Does Ekart Deliver To?

Ekart delivers inside India only, and searches for Ekart international tracking turn up no Ekart-operated cross-border service, because none exists. There is no export product, no customs brokerage arm and no overseas last mile: the company is a domestic network built to move Flipkart's volume, and its own material counts coverage in Indian pin codes rather than in countries.

Domestically the reach is wide. Ekart's own site claims more than 15,000 pin codes in the last mile, served from roughly 70 fulfilment centres, 80 sortation facilities and 3,500 delivery hubs, with over 7,000 trucks running daily and warehouses across around 20 metro and Tier-1 locations. That footprint spans all 28 states and 8 union territories, from Bengaluru, Delhi NCR, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Chennai, Kolkata, Pune and Ahmedabad down to Tier-3 towns and rural pin codes.

Cross-border parcels bought on Indian marketplaces do reach Indian doorsteps, but the international leg belongs to somebody else. An imported order clears customs with an international carrier or with India Post, and only a final domestic leg may pass to a local network. An Ekart tracking ID therefore never carries a customs event, an exchange-office scan or a CN23 reference, and a number showing any of those did not originate with Ekart.

Marketplace Collaborations

Ekart's anchor customer is its owner. It handles the large majority of Flipkart deliveries, and the same network carries Myntra, the fashion platform inside the Flipkart group, which is why an Ekart tracking ID turns up as often on a clothing order as on an electronics one.

Third-party business is the growth story rather than a sideline. Ekart began selling delivery to other ecommerce companies in 2014, and its client wall today names Snapdeal, Pepperfry, Puma, Godrej, Mama Earth, Libas and Paytm among the brands shipping on its network. The decisive step came on 3 June 2025, when Ekart went live on ONDC, the government-backed Open Network for Digital Commerce, making its fleet bookable by any seller on that network through a single interface.

"Ekart is proud to join hands with ONDC in building a more inclusive and democratised e-commerce ecosystem." (Mani Bhushan, Chief Business Officer, Ekart, 3 June 2025.)

ONDC framed the same announcement as a scale event, with acting chief executive and chief operating officer Vibhor Jain calling it "a significant step in democratising access to world-class logistics" on that date. The practical consequence for a shopper is that an Ekart tracking ID no longer implies a Flipkart purchase: a D2C brand's order, placed on its own website, can now arrive with the same Wishmaster.

About Ekart

Ekart began in 2009 as a Bengaluru pilot inside Flipkart, built because India's third-party courier market could not then support ecommerce delivery promises. It opened to third-party clients in 2014, and in 2015 Flipkart reacquired the unit from WS Retail Services and moved it into a newly incorporated subsidiary, Instakart Services Pvt Ltd, which remains the legal entity behind the brand. Headquarters are in Bengaluru, Karnataka.

Ownership runs upward through Flipkart to Walmart, which holds roughly 85% of the group. That structure changed materially in March 2026, when India's National Company Law Tribunal approved Flipkart's move of its holding company from Singapore to India ahead of a planned listing. Flipkart Internet absorbed eight Singapore-registered entities, among them Klick2Shop Logistic Services, the vehicle that held Ekart, and Myntra Holdings, leaving Flipkart Internet as the group holding company for Indian operations including Myntra and Ekart. Ekart stayed Flipkart-owned and fully operational throughout: the restructuring changed the corporate wrapper, not the network.

The scale behind the brand is a network built for volume: more than 7,000 trucks on Indian roads every day, roughly 70 fulfilment centres, 80 sortation facilities and 3,500 delivery hubs, over 15,000 pin codes served in the last mile, and an air lane connecting 21 or more airports to 1,800 cities within 96 hours. Ekart's own homepage puts the positioning plainly:

"India's largest logistics and supply chain arm offering seamless end-to-end fulfilment services for businesses." (Ekart Logistics, ekartlogistics.com, 2026.)

The delivery workforce is branded rather than anonymous. Flipkart calls its agents Wishmasters, a name that appears in the app, on the doorstep and in Ekart's recruitment, and it is the Wishmaster who opens the box, presents the QR code and closes the last hundred metres of the 15,000-plus pin codes the network reaches. Network figures here are drawn from Ekart's own corporate site, and the ONDC detail from its June 2025 announcement.

Ekart Common Questions:

How do I track an Ekart shipment?

If you bought on Flipkart or Myntra, open the app, go to My Orders, tap the order and read the tracking timeline there. That is the reliable route, because your account is already linked to the shipment and you do not need to know the courier or the tracking ID.

If you already hold the 14-character Ekart tracking ID, go to ekartlogistics.com, use the TRACK ORDER button and enter it. No login, email or postcode is needed. You can also paste the tracking ID into the tracking box on this page.

What does an Ekart tracking number look like?

It is 14 characters: four uppercase letters followed by 10 digits, with no spaces or hyphens. Ekart uses NAHC0000477864 as the example in its own tracking box, and Flipkart parcels frequently carry prefixes such as FMPC or FMPP. The prefix does not tell you the service or the seller, so there is nothing to decode in it.

Where do I find my Ekart tracking number?

Look in the dispatch SMS, the shipment confirmation email, or the order page in the Flipkart or Myntra app once the item has been handed to the courier. It is also printed on the shipping label on the carton. Before dispatch there is no tracking ID at all, only an order ID.

Can I track an Ekart parcel with my Flipkart order ID?

Not on Ekart's site. A Flipkart order ID starts with OD and is a marketplace reference, not a courier number, so Ekart's tracker rejects it. Use the order ID inside Flipkart, under My Orders or in the Help Centre, where it works normally. Ekart's tracker accepts only the 14-character tracking ID.

Why is my Ekart tracking not updating?

The usual reasons are that the label has been created but the parcel has not yet been scanned into a hub, that the consignment is mid-way on a long surface leg where scans are two or three days apart, or that a delivery attempt failed and the parcel went back to the hub.

If nothing has changed for four or more working days and the promised date has passed, treat it as stuck and raise it with the seller or with Flipkart rather than waiting.

Why does Ekart say "No tracking data available for ID"?

The tracker holds no record of that number. In practice this means one of three things: the number is mistyped, the label has not yet been scanned into the network, or the parcel is not with Ekart at all. Check the courier name in your Flipkart order timeline before assuming the parcel is missing.

My Flipkart order does not show up on the Ekart site. Is it lost?

Almost certainly not. Roughly one Flipkart delivery in ten is carried by another courier, so a Flipkart parcel is not automatically an Ekart parcel. Sellers also ship through Delhivery, XpressBees, Blue Dart and India Post. Flipkart's order timeline names the courier that actually holds your parcel.

How long does Ekart take to deliver?

Ekart quotes a guaranteed 48 to 96 hour window on longer surface distances, and its air network reaches 1,800 cities within 96 hours. As an estimate, expect 1 to 2 days within a metro, 2 to 4 days metro to metro, 3 to 5 days into Tier-2 and Tier-3 towns, and 5 to 9 days into remote, hill and North East pin codes. These are estimates, not guarantees.

What is Open Box Delivery and do I have to use it?

Open Box Delivery means the Wishmaster opens the packaging in front of you so you can check that the item is correct and undamaged before you accept it. Flipkart offers it free on eligible products, covering mobiles, laptops and large appliances in selected locations. If the item is wrong or damaged you can refuse it on the spot, which becomes an immediate return rather than a return request raised days later.

Can I pay by UPI instead of cash on an Ekart cash-on-delivery order?

Yes, on Flipkart pay-on-delivery orders. The Wishmaster presents a QR code on the shipment and you pay through any UPI app, including PhonePe, Paytm, Google Pay and MobiKwik, which removes the need for exact change. Cash remains accepted where the order was placed as cash on delivery.

What happens if I miss my Ekart delivery?

The parcel returns to the delivery hub and is reattempted. Ekart's published policy allows three reattempts in the last mile. After that the consignment is marked RTO, or Return to Origin, and travels back to the seller. You can usually reschedule from the Flipkart order page before it reaches that point.

What does RTO mean on Ekart tracking?

RTO stands for Return to Origin: the parcel is being sent back to the seller. It follows failed delivery attempts, a refusal at the door, a cancellation, or a cash-on-delivery amount that could not be paid. Once a shipment is marked RTO it can no longer be rescheduled, and any refund is handled by the seller or the marketplace.

Does Ekart deliver internationally?

No. Ekart is a domestic Indian network with no cross-border product, no customs brokerage and no overseas last mile. An Ekart tracking ID will never show a customs event or an exchange-office scan. Imported orders reach India with an international carrier or India Post, and only a final domestic leg may pass to a local courier.

How do I track an Ekart B2B or freight consignment?

Business freight uses a different identifier and a different portal. Ekart tracks full and part truckload consignments by LR shipment ID on a separate business portal linked from its corporate site, not through the parcel tracker at ekartlogistics.com.

Who is a Wishmaster?

Wishmaster is Flipkart's name for the delivery agents who run Ekart's last mile. The Wishmaster is the person who performs Open Box Delivery, presents the QR code for a pay-on-delivery payment, and collects returns under Ekart's Smart RVP service.

How do I contact Ekart about a delayed or lost parcel?

For a marketplace purchase, contact Flipkart or Myntra rather than Ekart. The marketplace holds the contract of sale, can see internal scans that the public tracker does not show, and is the only party that can issue a refund or a replacement. Reach it through the Help Centre in the app or on the website, using your order ID.

Sellers shipping on Ekart's own platform raise a ticket on the Ekart seller portal, which states a response within 24 hours. Compensation for a lost shipment applies only where insurance was purchased, capped at 50% of the shipment value or Rs 2,000, whichever is lower.

Is Ekart still owned by Flipkart after the 2026 restructuring?

Yes. In March 2026 India's National Company Law Tribunal approved Flipkart moving its holding company from Singapore to India ahead of a planned listing, and Flipkart Internet absorbed the Singapore entities that held Ekart and Myntra. Flipkart, roughly 85% owned by Walmart, remains Ekart's owner. The change was to the corporate structure, not to the delivery network, which operated normally throughout.
