OCA Argentina Tracking

OCA is one of Argentina's largest private parcel networks, built on roughly 760 service points, more than 3,500 vehicles and over 100 operational centres staffed by around 9,500 people. An OCA shipment number is a 19-digit numeric string with no letters, and OCA's own developer documentation defines it exactly that way, as the "Número de Envío [19 dígitos]" (OCA, e-Pak developer documentation). A typical number looks like 1217400000000027653.

OCA uses three names for that same number, and they are interchangeable: número de envío, orden de admisión, and número de guía. There is no separate "código de seguimiento" to hunt for. The number is generated when the sender admits the parcel, so it exists before the item physically moves.

Two details trip up most searches. Some labels print the number with a trailing -1 suffix, which is not part of the reference and must be left out. And because the middle of the string is mostly zeros, OCA's tracker accepts a shorthand in which those zeros are replaced by a double slash.

OCA also carries regulated document products, grouped under the heading Comunicaciones Fehacientes (legally attested communications), such as the carta documento, a formal legal letter, and the telegrama. Together with franked postal items, these use a lettered reference shape rather than the 19-digit parcel number.

Where to Find OCA Argentina Tracking Number

The 19-digit number is created by the sender at admission, so it reaches the recipient through the shop rather than from OCA directly. On an online purchase it is issued when the store hands the parcel over, not when the order is placed. It appears in these places:

• The dispatch or shipping confirmation email from the online store.
• The comprobante de admisión, the admission receipt, when the item was posted in person at an OCA service point.
• The OCA label applied to the parcel itself.
• The order detail page inside the account with the shop or marketplace.

A shop's order number is not an OCA shipment number and will not resolve in any courier tracker. Until the seller admits the parcel into OCA's network and a 19-digit reference is generated, there is nothing to track. Once admitted, the number can still take up to 48 business hours to become visible, because it only goes live after the first facility processes it.

Every OCA parcel resolves to a single 19-digit reference, and the table below sets out that format alongside the lettered shapes used by OCA's document and postal products. OCA publishes no prefix-to-service key for parcels, so a leading digit sequence should not be read as a service indicator.

A reference that matches none of these shapes is most often the retailer's own order ID rather than an OCA number. The continuous 19-digit string is the reliable signal of a genuine OCA parcel reference.

OCA Argentina Tracking Status Guide

OCA records a scan at each handover between its service points, distribution plants and delivery couriers, and the tracker reports those events in Spanish. The 8 statuses below cover the domestic lifecycle from admission to delivery.

The status worth watching for is "En sucursal para retiro", because it starts the collection clock: the parcel is held for a limited number of business days before it is returned to the sender.

Why OCA Argentina Tracking Is Not Updating or Not Working

An OCA number that returns nothing, or a status that has not moved, is usually explained by one of five routine causes rather than a lost parcel.

The number is not live yet. A newly admitted shipment can take up to 48 business hours to appear, because the reference only activates once the first facility processes it. Nothing is wrong during that window.

The wrong number was entered. An OCA parcel reference is 19 digits. A retailer's order ID will not resolve, and neither will the number with its trailing -1 suffix attached. The double-slash form, 12174//27653, is a valid alternative to the full string.

Still in transit between facilities. A parcel can sit for a day between a distribution-plant scan and the next service-point scan with nothing wrong. Argentina is a long country, and interior destinations record fewer intermediate scans than the Buenos Aires metropolitan area.

A delivery attempt failed. A "Visita no exitosa" status means the courier called and found nobody at the address. OCA normally makes 2 visits, without a pre-arranged time slot, before the parcel is held at a service point for collection.

The parcel is genuinely late. OCA's published maximum for the Estándar service is 15 business days in Buenos Aires and 20 in the interior, so a parcel is not formally overdue until that window passes. For an online purchase, the seller is the first point of contact, since the seller holds the shipping contract and the admission record; OCA's own contact channels are listed on oca.com.ar.

Services and Delivery Times Compared

OCA sells its parcel products in speed tiers rather than as separate branded services, and the tier chosen at admission sets the delivery target. The table below compares the main products, with targets taken from OCA's own product pages (OCA, Paquetería). All times are estimates that vary with the destination.

The e-Pak platform is where most e-commerce volume sits, and it also carries OCA's reverse-logistics flow, Logística Inversa, which is how a returned online order travels back to the seller on the same style of 19-digit reference.

Delivery and Transit Times Across Argentina

OCA publishes contractual maximums rather than promises, and they are the most reliable figures on the page. For the Estándar service they are 15 business days for the Federal Capital and Greater Buenos Aires, and 20 business days for the interior of the country.

Those are ceilings, not typical times. In practice the Estándar tier targets 48 to 96 business hours, the Prioritario tier 24 to 48, and the Urgente tier around 24 hours, in each case depending on the destination. The Buenos Aires metropolitan area is the fastest zone; Patagonian and far-northwestern provinces sit at the slow end because of distance rather than any difference in handling.

Deliveries are attempted on business days between 09:00 and 18:00, and OCA does not offer a pre-arranged time slot on standard parcel products. A recipient who is rarely home is better served by choosing a service-point delivery option at checkout, which routes the parcel to a branch for collection instead of attempting the door.

Failed Delivery, Branch Pickup and Return to Sender

OCA makes 2 delivery visits on a standard parcel, without prior coordination, and holds the item at a service point if both fail. Once the tracker shows "En sucursal para retiro", the parcel is available for collection at the named location.

The hold is not indefinite. An uncollected parcel stays at the service point for 5 business days, after which it is returned to the sender, and the tracking history closes on the return rather than on a delivery. Watching for the "En sucursal para retiro" status is the practical way to act inside that window.

Collection requires photo identification and the 19-digit shipment number, and an authorised adult may collect on the recipient's behalf. Keeping the comprobante de admisión or the dispatch email to hand is enough, since both carry the reference.

Which Countries Does OCA Argentina Deliver To?

OCA international tracking is narrower than most carriers', and the honest answer is that OCA is primarily a domestic Argentine network with an outbound international product. Domestically it covers all 23 provinces and the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires through roughly 760 service points, from Jujuy and Salta in the north to Santa Cruz and Tierra del Fuego in the south, taking in Buenos Aires, Córdoba, Rosario, Mendoza, La Plata, Mar del Plata and Neuquén.

Internationally, the product is branded OCA Courier and it sends documents, samples and goods from Argentina to destinations abroad. A parcel is dropped at a service point enabled for international shipping, or collected from an address for a fee, and OCA routes it to the departure gateway before handing it to a partner carrier that completes delivery in the destination country. From that handoff, tracking continues under the partner's own reference rather than the OCA number.

OCA does not publish a public list of international destinations, partner carriers or transit times, so any country-by-country table would be guesswork. Inbound international parcels are not an OCA Courier product: goods bought from abroad reach Argentine recipients through the customs regimes described below, and the final domestic leg may or may not be carried by OCA depending on the seller's arrangements.

Cross-Border Customs and International Handoff

Argentine customs is administered by ARCA, the Agencia de Recaudación y Control Aduanero, which replaced AFIP in late 2024. Two separate import regimes govern parcels arriving from abroad, and they are routinely confused because both are described as "puerta a puerta", meaning door to door.

Under the courier regime for small shipments, a parcel may be worth up to USD 3,000 FOB, weigh up to 50 kg, and contain no more than 3 units of the same kind, and an individual may use the regime 5 times per calendar year. The first USD 400 FOB is exempt from import duty and the statistical tax, with duty charged only on the excess above that threshold; VAT and internal taxes still apply (ARCA, Pequeños envíos Courier).

The postal Puerta a Puerta regime, operated through Correo Argentino rather than a courier, works differently: personal-use purchases up to USD 3,000 are allowed, with a USD 50 duty-free allowance applied to each of the first 12 shipments in a year and a 50% tax on the value above it. The distinction matters when a parcel stalls, because the authority holding it, and the charges due before release, depend on which channel the seller used and not on the carrier that delivers the final leg.

Marketplace and E-commerce Deliveries

OCA's best-known marketplace tie is historical rather than current. OCA was the launch carrier for Mercado Envíos when Mercado Libre introduced the programme in 2013, but Mercado Libre Argentina now runs its own logistics: Envíos Full out of its own warehouses, Envíos Flex fulfilled by the seller, and the Meli Logistics first- and last-mile build-out. Sellers on the platform no longer choose OCA as a carrier, so a Mercado Libre order today is unlikely to arrive on an OCA number.

Where OCA does carry e-commerce volume is through e-Pak, its shipping platform for online shops and SMEs, which integrates with a merchant's checkout and issues the same 19-digit reference. The carrier at the door is chosen by the shop, not by the shopper, so the dispatch email is the only reliable way to know whether a given order is travelling with OCA.

For cross-border shopping, Argentine buyers order heavily from the China-based marketplaces, and parcels from AliExpress, Temu and Shein enter the country through the courier or postal regimes described above. Those parcels clear customs under ARCA before any Argentine carrier touches them, which is why an international order can show a long silence and then move quickly once released.

About OCA Argentina

OCA, Organización Coordinadora Argentina, was founded in 1957 and grew into one of the country's dominant private postal and parcel operators. It was owned by Alfredo Yabrán from the 1970s, then sold to the Exxel Group in December 1997 for around USD 605 million, and passed through several owners after that, the last of the original company being Patricio Farcuh.

The company that operates today is not that company. The original OCA S.A. was declared in quiebra in April 2019, in a bankruptcy that allowed operations to continue rather than liquidating the business. Its assets were auctioned and transferred in 2021, and the network has since traded as OCA LOG S.A. A page that still describes the carrier as "OCA S.A." under its old ownership is describing a company that no longer exists.

In June 2025 OCA LOG entered a concurso preventivo, a court-supervised restructuring, over debts of roughly ARS 100,000 million, around 80% of which is owed to the tax authority ARCA. The company said at the time that it had an operating surplus and was restructuring tax debt rather than failing operationally, and it has kept delivering throughout (La Nación, June 2025).

In December 2025 COC Global Enterprise, the holding company of Leonardo Scatturice, took majority control of OCA, with the previous controlling shareholder staying on as a minority holder and board president; new senior management was announced in February 2026 (Ámbito, December 2025). The restructuring remains open. None of this has interrupted the delivery network, which continues to run roughly 760 service points, more than 3,500 vehicles and over 100 operational centres, employing around 9,500 people directly and indirectly.
