Why does my eBay order say 'Shipped' but no tracking is available?

When your eBay order shows “Shipped” but no tracking number appears, it usually means one of the following:

1. The seller marked the item as shipped but hasn’t uploaded the tracking number yet.
Many sellers dispatch packages first and enter the tracking information later. The number may appear within 24–48 hours.

2. The package hasn’t been scanned by the carrier.
A tracking number may exist, but it won’t show any updates until the first physical scan at the carrier’s facility.

3. The seller used a shipping service without tracking.
Economy or low-cost shipping methods (especially for small, inexpensive items) may not include tracking at all.

4. The tracking is only available on the carrier’s website.
For some international orders, tracking appears first on the origin carrier’s system and only syncs to eBay after export.

5. eBay’s system is delayed.
Occasionally, eBay’s tracking information updates later than the carrier.

If tracking doesn’t show up after several days, you can message the seller to confirm the shipping method and request the tracking number directly.
