Why is my Aliexpress tracking number not working?
An Aliexpress tracking number may not work for several reasons, most of which are normal and temporary. Common causes include:
1. The carrier has not scanned the package yet
After the seller creates a shipping label, it may take 24–72 hours (or longer during peak seasons) for the carrier to scan and activate the tracking number.
2. The tracking number was uploaded before the parcel was handed over
Some sellers mark orders as shipped early, even though the package has not yet reached the logistics provider.
3. The shipping method does not support full tracking
Economy services like Cainiao Super Economy, Yanwen Economic Air Mail, or unregistered China Post often show limited or no tracking updates.
4. System delays on Aliexpress or the carrier’s side
Tracking data may lag behind the actual movement, especially during holidays, sales events, or high-volume periods.
5. The number is only trackable after export
Many Aliexpress tracking numbers begin showing updates only once the package leaves China and is scanned in the destination country.
6. The wrong carrier website is being used
Some numbers only work on specific carriers (Cainiao, SunYou, 4PX, YunExpress, etc.). Using the wrong site may show “not found.”
If the tracking number still does not work after several days, contact the seller or check for a secondary tracking number that may appear later in transit.
