Can I track an eBay order without a tracking number?

In most cases, you cannot track an eBay order without a tracking number, because carriers require a valid tracking ID to display shipment details. However, you can still check the status of your order in several ways:

1. View the order status in your Purchase History
Even without tracking, eBay will show whether the seller marked the item as:

• Paid

• Shipped

• Delivered

2. Contact the seller
The seller may have shipped the item but forgotten to upload the tracking number. They can provide it manually.

3. Check your email notifications
Some sellers include the tracking number in the “Your order has shipped” email, even if it’s not visible on the eBay website yet.

4. Economy methods may not include tracking
Low-cost shipping options (untracked mail, certain international economy services) do not always come with a tracking number. In those cases, the order can only be monitored through estimated delivery dates.

If you receive no updates and the delivery window passes, you can open a case with eBay under the “Item not received” policy.
